While fishing in the Everglades late in the afternoon with a good friend, Charles Miller, a resident of Port of the Isles, we drifted over a shoal on one of the outer keys on a rising tide. Charles hooked a monster Redfish on light tackle using 12lb. braid. The battle was epic as the big bull Redfish on his first run took more than half the spool. A back and forth battle ensued till the big Red was finally netted, photographed and released. Charles took 2 more overslot redfish and a great Jack Crevalle, all fish boated, photographed and successfully released. The incredible action lasted for just under one hour making that afternoon one of the best on record.
