10,000 Islands
Recently, on a half day charter in the 10,000 islands, Chris LeWand and his son, Joaquin, enjoyed good action with live shrimp. Numerous fish were fought and released at boat side under our typical spring, sunny weather as water temperatures continued to rise into the low 80’s. Joaquin, an avid and accomplished fisherman now at 8 years old, took top honors for the day catching and releasing a variety of fish, including Lookdown and Jack Crevalle. Later in the morning on a rising tide around Round Key Joaquin using a light spinning rod singlehandedly hooked, fought and landed this feisty shark. Before release Joaquin poses with his first Bonnethead Shark.
